The studio

One painter.
One coder.
Same person.

DB Attic Studios is an independent game studio in New Hampshire, founded in 2017 by Dr. Darlene Barker ("DB"). It makes story-driven, hand-painted games for players 17 and up, with no AI‑generated art.

DB makes every game herself: she writes the stories, paints the worlds and writes the code. The games draw on history, myth and memory, and on her doctoral research into emotions and how people feel.
